A Golden-Hued Summer Wedding Day

Savannah and Will’s wedding day was draped in shades of gold. From their very special flower girl, golden retriever Lou, to the sunny yellow color palette and a golden-hour beach portrait session after saying “I do,” thoughtful details brought a little extra warmth to their summer celebration.

Before the festivities began, Savannah and Will carved out a few hours of private time to enjoy the morning together. They started by playing fetch with Lou to tire her out before her big debut, then grabbed their coffees and headed down to the docks at The Alice to exchange private vows and rehearse their first dance. More than just a quiet start to the day, the time gave them space to slow down, center themselves, and remember what the celebration was all about. As Christians, their faith was an important part of their wedding day, grounding the celebration in the commitment they were making and the love they share.

As the ceremony approached, the weather had other plans. Rain rolled in just as guests were preparing to take their seats, but rather than let it throw off the day, Savannah and Will made the most of the unexpected pause. They popped champagne with their wedding party and families and waited for the skies to clear. About thirty minutes later, the rain passed, and their outdoor ceremony was back on. Before long, they were officially married!

Planned by Madison Leigh Events, with florals coordinated by Our Greenhouse Florals, the celebration carried its golden touches throughout. Even the cake, created by Coastally Baked, featured a sweet nod to Lou, with the golden retriever playfully taking a bite right out of the design. And once the couple had their golden-hour beach portraits, the evening was ready to pick up right where the day left off.

After a lovely cocktail hour and an amazing dinner catered by Townsend Catering, Savannah and Will made their way to the dance floor, where they stayed until the very end of the night. As the couple shared, “Then, we took The Alice golf carts down the street to McGuire’s to end the celebration!!” It was a fitting finish to a day that felt entirely their own: full of faith, family, sunshine, and a few golden moments with their favorite four-legged guest.
